Oktoberfest is here!

Saturday 19th October 2019

featuring Gordon's Alive (Loud Oompah Version)

Oktoberfest - Are you in?

Crown Prince Ludwig, later to become King Ludwig I, was married to Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen on 12th October 1810. The citizens of Munich were invited to attend the festivities held on the fields in front of the city gates to celebrate the happy royal event. The fields have been named Theresienwiese ("Theresa's fields") in honor of the Crown Princess ever since, although the locals have since abbreviated the name simply to the "Wies'n".

Horse races in the presence of the Royal Family marked the close of the event that was celebrated as a festival for the whole of Bavaria. The decision to repeat the horse races in the subsequent year gave rise to the tradition of the Oktoberfest.

Nevermind all the history. Oktoberfest is all about BEER and Bratwurst!

Join us on Saturday 19th October from 4pm for Thorne's first ever Oktoberfest.

We will be offering several German beers on tap, served in the traditional 2 pint stein but you can of course have your usual lager!

A £5 deposit will be required for your stein but you can hand it back for a refund or take it home with you!

But be warned, it is first come first served and we only have limited stock of steins!!!

Oh and Gordons Alive's German cousins 'Herman's Alive' are playing live throughout the evening with their latest versions of 'seat of your pants rock' on the trombone & tuba.......!

(Not really... It's just the usual loudness from Craig, Duncan & Co.)

Looking forward to Christmas? Love Gin?

Then you'll love us!

After a very popular evening last year, we are once again running our Gin...gle Bells Christmas Party nights.

Your ticket will include a 2 course meal with coffee, Gin tasting*, a free Gin glass to take home and a couple of Gins to help you along the way! Watch this space for dates & pricing.

*Maybe even a Gin Tasting Masterclass
